Yoga is a place of harmony and balance, an intimate connection between body and mind, the world around us and beyond us.

It gives us a framework to develop a deeper awareness and understanding to live a more meaningful, joyful life.

For me Yoga is:

  • Releasing blocks and tensions
  • Feeling good in my body
  • Returning to my breath and my centre
  • Quieting the mind
  • Calming the storms of emotion
  • Nervous system regulation
  • Flowing with my soul
  • Opening my heart
  • Self love
  • Softening through tension
  • Taking up challenges and meeting my fears
  • Cultivating balance and stability
  • Expanding awareness
  • Opening my divine senses
  • Becoming a better listener
  • Clarity
  • Freedom
  • And so many other things

My Yoga Journey:

I attended my first yoga session in 2006 when I was a student in my hometown, Bucharest, Romania.

Yoga opened up my curiosity as well as my awareness and helped me embrace the higher dimensions. It helped me move through the depression I was in as an effect of not living the life I truly wanted. It supported me in taking action and generating change.

I moved countries, changed universities and there I kept practising. Yoga reminded me to be at home in my body, in my heart and in my community despite living as an expat. With this beautiful practice I could move more gracefully through loss, changes, stresses, uncertainties, growth, big decisions, fear, accidents and trauma. It made me take my wellbeing and my self-love in my hands.

My practice started with Iyengar, Vinyasa Flow, Yin Yoga and moved on to exploring more styles such as Ashtanga, Forrest, Jivamukti, Restorative, Womb. I gradually began to evolve my own style of teaching slow flows based on somatic principles as well as addressing current research in anatomy and biomechanics.

I teach with an emphasis on alignment and quality of breath. My approach is technical and creative. Expect sequences that explore the anatomy of the body in stillness and movement, as well as the subtle, energetic body.

I am passionate about my own ever evolving practice and I am grateful to continue studying with Susanne Lahausen, Amy Ippoliti, Rachel Middleton, Isabell Britsch, Sybille Pouzet, Alicia Cheung, Jo Tastula, Stephanie Snyder and Meghan Currie.

I hold a 200hr teacher training diploma from Yoga London, accredited by the British Wheel of Yoga and Yoga Alliance and I also have done well over 300 hours of intensives and workshops with deeply valued international teachers such as David Swenson, Shiva Rea, Lisa Walford, Ana Forrest, Cat-Alip Douglas, Uma Dinsmore-Tuli, Stephanie Snyder, Susanne Lahausen and many more.

I’ve also trained in yin yoga and mindfulness with Sarah Powers.

I did my Total Yoga Nidra training with Uma Dinsmore-Tuli and Sivani Mata Francis with whom I also studied Womb Yoga.

I attended training in Nada Yoga and Kirtan with Gaiea Sanskrit,  Sivani Mata Francis and Sulekh Ruparell.

CLASSES

SOMATIC YOGA FLOW

An intermediate vinyasa slow flow class where the transitions are as important as the asanas emphasising the importance of the process. After a slightly slower start of somatically based awareness exercises, the class moves into more dynamic sequences linking breath and movement creating strength and stability as well as expansion and awareness. You will leave renewed, replenished, relaxed, with a regulated nervous system and an open heart!

YIN YOGA

This is a class that brings together Chinese medicine, yoga and vipassana (mindfulness meditation). You will be holding postures for a longer time and in this way you are going to release the fascia system within the body as well as work on the meridians to create overall energetic balance. There is also the opportunity to cultivate stillness as you move through so many strong emotions and sensations. This capacity will translate into being able to stay centred through many of life’s challenges.

RESTORATIVE YOGA

A deeply nourishing class that will connect you to your stillness and resilience. You will experience how wonderful it is to be supported by postures that will help you release tensions and blocks in a very gentle and soft manner. We will be using many props (blocks, bolsters, belts, chairs, blankets) in order to be able to hold every posture with ease and grace. You will be feeling deeply relaxed, restored, centred and more whole after this class

WOMB YOGA

This class is addressing the experience of being a woman. Its aim is to help you learn more about how it is best to move according to the inner rhythms of the female body. It brings awareness into the heart-womb relationship and helps move the energy within the pelvis creating strength, stability and health within that space. Within the structure of this class you can learn to move through all the female rhythms (menstruation with its seasons, pregnancy, perimenopause, menopause) with ease, grace, compassion and knowledge.

YOGA NIDRA

Yoga Nidra is an amazing guided meditation that will take your brain into an active state of beta waves leading shortly into an alpha state, the brain wave frequency that links conscious thought with the subconscious mind. In that deep rest you can reset your nervous system as well as your whole body and you will feel deeply nourished, rested and have a deep sense of release. In that safe space you can integrate parts and pieces of you into wholeness and release old patterns that no longer serve you.

MEDITATION

Through deep and gracious listening you can understand your mind and see what is truly yours, what comes from your soul, and what you borrowed from your parents, school, education, religion, society etc and assumed that is yours as they became deep embedded patterns. Growing to know your mind and to open your divine senses as well as your soul passion will enable you to live in freedom making choices and taking actions that reflect your true self.
You can have any of these classes as a private session and thus work on what is important to you right now, or take a look at the class schedule for group classes in your area.
